Tricked took down MIBR 2-0 (16-14 Overpass, 16-13 Dust2) in the semi-final of the V4 Future Sports Festival, securing a place in the grand final of the $331,000 tournament.
MIBR grabbed a 2-0 start on the CT side of Overpass, Tricked's map pick, but Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen's squad found a footing after the first rifle round, with Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen's 4K saving the Danes from an anti-eco blunder and seeing the score reach 5-2.
The Brazilians managed to tie things at 5-5 with some aggressive CT side plays, while Epitacio "TACO" de Melo's 3K allowed a retake and subsequently a 7-6 lead for MIBR. Tricked figured out how to deal with aggression late in the half, but ultimately dropped a few afterplants which cost them the lead moving onto the CT side.
Overwhelming the defenses in the pistol saw MIBR extend their lead to 9-7, but Tricked won the following force buy and ran up a 15-10 lead thanks to Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand and a woken up Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen, who finished the first half with one kill. After reaching map point, Tricked lost 5v3, 5v2, and 4v1 advantages, with Fernando "fer" Alvarenga being the thorn in their side. Finally, Tricked managed to close out the last round and take the map 16-14.
Tricked kicked-off Dust2 with CT aggression, pushing mid on the pistol and closing out the round to take the lead on the second map of the series. The Danes build up a bank early and brought out the double AWP, with the snipers working wonders in the hands of acoR and Bubzkji. (7-1)
TACO and Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles clutched out a 2v3 to get their team back into the fight, but losing a 4v3 to just pistols a few rounds later ended MIBR's hopes of having a strong first half. Tricked closed it out 11-4, and thanks to a good fake and HUNDEN hitting a jumping shot on the defuser, extended their lead after the second pistol. (14-4)
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. didn't falter, though, instead kept things together on the defense to bring the score back to 14-9. Tricked was continuously breaking into the bombsites, favoring B, but the Brazilian side was able to secure a couple of very close retakes and keep their head above water. Eventually, Tricked broke over onto the A bombsite over Short, put down the bomb and held off the retake to close out the map 16-13.
